AUTHENTIC STUDENT MINISTRIES
Client: Authentic Student Ministries Youth Group
Project: Logo & Visual Identity
Audience: Middle & High School Students
Constraints: Youth-focused while remaining appropriate for a faith-based organization, scalable identity system for volunteers and multiple applications
Youth pastors Austin and David at The Turning Point Church in Nashville, TN approached me to rebrand their youth group, Authentic Student Ministries, with a fresh visual identity. Following a recent organizational restructure, they sought a new look that clearly expressed the group’s core mission: Reach, Develop, Engage.
The new brand needed to represent a safe, inviting space where students could grow in their faith and feel comfortable being their true selves.
While the project allowed for broad creative freedom, the identity needed to balance youthful energy with inclusivity and trust within a church setting. My solution was a badge-style logo inspired by an authenticity seal. The mark centers on the group’s name, Authentic, and symbolizes trust, belonging, and genuine connection between students and leaders. Designed to feel welcoming rather than institutional, the seal reinforces the group’s mission while remaining approachable to a young audience.
The updated visual identity emphasizes a vibrant, playful aesthetic through bold color and flexible layouts that resonate with middle and high school students. A versatile logo system was developed to ensure consistency across a wide range of applications—from social media, slides, and merchandise to event and promotional materials—allowing the brand to scale easily while maintaining a cohesive, recognizable presence.
